Job Title: Business Development Manager

Job Purpose

Develop and execute business and monetization strategies for an exciting women-focused online media startup. You will be working with one of the coolest teams of journalists in Indonesia and have the opportunity to help one of Indonesia's most progressive media companies to expand.

Key Responsibilities:
Short-Term:
  • Develop and implement business and monetization strategies, including revenue targets
  • Initial Sales and Product Development, including day to day selling responsibilities

Medium-Term
  • Maintaining fruitful relationships with partners

Long-Term
  • Building sales team and operations to match growth plan of company
  • Lead commercial operations

Skills and Qualification:
  • At least 8 - 10 years working experience in the related field, particularly in a media company or in digital ad sales
  • In-depth knowledge of the commercial side of the media industry and strong network among advertisers (brands and corporation) and agencies
  • Proven ability to monetize online media company (advertising, sponsorships, events, etc.)
  • Passionate about digital and media.
  • Flexibility to work after office hours and on weekends as needed
  • Holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Advertising or Communication
  • Strong communication skill with a positive, go-getter attitude, and ability to work independently and as part of a small team
  • The ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines

Job Title: Community Engagement Manager

Job Purpose

Plan and execute strategies to build Magdalene's communities and ecosystem, and work alongside our Business Development Manager on monetizing partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and execute strategies to build Magdalene's communities and ecosystem.
  • Identify community partners and grow community engagement offline via events, and online via social media and other channels.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationship with communities, media and brand and corporate partners.
  • Work alongside the Business Development Manager on monetizing partnership
  • Plan and manage Magdalene's own as well as partnered events
  • Manage joint projects between company and partners.
  • Plan and organize fundraising/crowdfunding efforts
  • Flexibility to work after office hours and on weekends for events or special cases.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • 6-8 years' work experience in related field
  • Experience or exposure to the media business
  • Knowledgeable or interest in gender issues, and preferably have a strong network in women-focused groups, communities or initiatives.
  • A progressive political and social outlook
  • A degree in Public Relations, Communication, Marketing, or related field.
  • Good presentation and negotiation skill
  • Good spoken English and competent writing skill is an advantage
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter and energetic individual, able to work independently as well as with a team.
  • Highly resourceful, full of initiative and pro-active in giving ideas and executing tasks that are necessary to achieve the company's goals.
  • Experience in community relations, fundraising/crowdfunding, and volunteer management.
