Namaste Festival is Back
A smorgasbord of yoga, healing and well being classes are on offers at this year's Namaste Festival.
Grab your mat and get ready for a three-day of yoga, healing and well being with Namaste Festival 2014.
The annual event is back for its fifth year, giving the opportunities for yogis and yoginis to learn various types and styles of yoga from highly acclaimed instructors both from the country and abroad.
Held on 21-23 November 2014 at The Sultan Hotel Jakarta, this year’s festival features internationally certified instructors, such as Cameron Shayne, Patrick Beach and Cristi Christensen, who teach a number of Hollywood celebrities and world-renowned athletes.
Over 50 classes of yoga will be held in the course of three days, from Hatha to Vinyasa, Ashtanga and Acroyoga, and those rarely found in the country, such as Budokon Yoga and Core on Fire.
“There are some fun classes too, like Island Fitness dance and hip hop yoga,” said Namaste Festival Director Anita Boentarman in a press conference earlier this week.
“We also conduct community classes for free. It’s our way of giving back to the society, so that people can have a taste of yoga.”
This year’s community class is Vinyasa for Glaucoma Therapy, which will be taught by Arif Sentosa.
Other activities during Namaste Festival include children program and a food and merchandise bazaar.
Attending the press briefing, filmmaker Nia Dinata called the festival “three days of recharging”.
“It’s nice and fun to try different classes and styles. And the cultural events are very Indonesia, very down to earth,” she said.
